SEKTION doors are not compatible with AKURUM cabinets. The two systems have different door sizing and hardware placement, so they cannot be swapped. Kokeena makes replacement doors designed specifically for AKURUM frames, so you can get a fully custom look without touching your existing cabinet boxes.

The easiest way to distinguish is by the height of the top drawer in your base cabinet: AKURUM drawers are 6-3/16 inches high, while SEKTION drawers are 4-7/8 inches high. If you're unsure, snap a photo and send it our way.

AKURUM was the original IKEA kitchen system from 1996 to 2014. 2015 ushered in the new SEKTION system in the US.
The easiest way to tell the difference is the height of the top drawer of your base cabinet. The height of the AKURUM drawer is 6-3/16”h vs SEKTIONs 4-7/8”h. It’s that easy! When in doubt send us photos and we can take a look.
